Bon Jovi: Always Meaning
Song Released: 1994
Always Lyrics
But you can't see his blood
It's nothing but some feelings
That this old dog kicked up
It's been raining since you left me
Now I'm drowning in the flood
You see I've always been a fighter
But without you I give...

#1 top rated interpretation:It's obviously about the tragedy love story Romeo and Juliet by Shakespeare. Its told in the perspective of Romeo and the song talks about some of the major parts of the play. I wouldn't say it was about a man who cheated on his lover because even though Romeo did love a girl named Rosaline, he got over her in a heartbeat when he met Juliet. In the first line " This Romeo is bleeding, but you can't see his blood" refers to when Romeo kills himself over his beloved one's 'death', meanwhile Juliet is un-aware. From there the song dates everything that happens in the story prior this scene. The line "I'll be there, till the stars don't shine." basically references the common line that ties in with fate that is through-out the story, the stars represent a persons fate, when their star doesn't "shine" then that obviously means that fate has deemed their end. I would go into more detail but I don't want to spoil the ending for those who haven't read the play yet.

#2 top rated interpretation:Well the song itself seems to just be about a guy telling his girlfriend/wife that he will love her "Always." But there's also a little story in the music video where a man cheats on his wife, and she runs off and poses for some other guy's painting. Then the first guy finds her and sees the painting and they start fighting again.
I guess the song is just about being faithful to your lover? -
We will be together. No worries Jon! Don't be disappointed..like I said to him
GOD has a plan -
Bon Jovi is basically saying that no matter what, he will always love his girlfriend. He is saying that although she has moved past him, he will always love her.
-
It was originally written for a film 'this Romeo is bleeding' hence the first lyric.
Its a love song.
Weirdos -
I think it's about finding your soul mate at a very young age but due to whatever reasons he ended the relationship. But no matter who you both love again in life this person will always have your heart, your soul, the air you breathe.its like I love you for the rest of my life and Beyond. Purest of love that can never be found again, brought or sold. Every second of your life this person breathes with you and your heart is forever broken
-
I just love this song !!!! There isn't a Bon Jovi song that I don't love
-
I don't think its necessarily that the guy cheated.
He was madly in love with a girl, and somewhere along the lines the relationship just didn't work out, ending with the girl leaving him.
And although their relationship is now over, the guy still loves her.
I had a great romance once, but we just had too many differences for it to work out. I could never ever take her back because I know those differences will always be there. But I still love her and always will.
And I think that is what this song is about. So many guys (and girls) have been in the same boat, which is why I think people can relate to this song so much. -
Perfection is really real... :) best song
ever!!! -
For me its about a man who made a mistake to her girlfriend even though he cheated the girl with the bestfriend of the girl he still love her girlfriend
-
It is about a love you once had.And you made a mistake and the other person leaves. Then you think of what you had in the happier times
-
This interpretation has been marked as poor. view anyway

I was 12 when I first heard the song, I had such a crush on a girl in class that I wrote Always down for her and crept into her yard with my friends to pass it through her window while she was asleep at 4am... Stalker.... Or hopeless romance.... The song gave me the courage to do it, and I'm glad I did!
-
I've always gotten some reeeeal stalker vibes from this song. And Jon himself said that it was about stalking. It's one of the few songs Jon has written that creeps me out.
-
Sad but true, it's about a guy still madly in-love with the girl of his dream but can't let go and do nothing because he is already in a committed relationship (married maybe)...
-
This is really a religious song inspired by Satan to God.
First 2 p: Romeo is Satan that ruined the relatioship with God, and since then everything went wrong for him.
3rd p: He used to praise to God but now he's not good anymore
4rd p: Promises to love God to avoid the judgement in a new relationship.
5th p: Remainds his old life in heaven and his unforgiven sin, and ads some blasphemies to god. Justifies himself saying he's just a man.
6th p: This section he talks about Jesus and his close relation to the father. As Jesus is his main enemy, Satan wants to take his place as once used to be.
8th p: More promises to God
9th p: Tries to convince God to forget the past mistakes and make a new world where he will serve again as it used to be once. -
This is not a love song, like many people see it. Jon himself said that "Always" it is actually about a stalker
