Bullet For My Valentine: Deliver Us From Evil Meaning
Deliver Us From Evil Lyrics
I'm dying from the inside
Body hurts too much to feel
And pressure adds to pain
Deliver us from evil
Straying out of sanity
Why can't you let me be
Is nothing else important
Does my mind mean more to you
Cause if...

When I was younger this song always made me think of dying and going to Hell and suffering endlessly, hoping to find a way to escape.

Matt stated on tour that he wrote this song when he had to have tonsillectomy surgery, he was actually worried that he would never be able to sing again.. he stated "he wrote this song while in the hospital bed"

Has anybody ever read the story of jobe (not sure the spelling of his name)from the bible? This song fits that story so perfectly. It's like that story was inspiration for this song. Just been thinking about the meaning and decided to post this.

I personally think its about someone who's going through tough times. I don't know the true meaning but I think its Matt saying that he's not perfect and even though people hate him he's still gonna try his best. "im nothing more than human making plans for enemies"
And "whats happening to me I'm dying from the inside, body hurts too much to feel" I guess Matt was suffering from depression since his vocals were nearly gone at that point and they were considering replacing him. -
well for me this has 2 meaning the 1st is about having some disabilites in life like matt's throat and their group's having some problems before. and the 2nd is about deppresion that cause people to use drugs the ''evil'' in the lyrics is the drugs that cause pain and difficulties in teens today. I based my interpretation on the writer and our present life.
