Songs about Friendship
Not all songs about human companionship are about deep love, or even sweaty lust; many more of them are about simple friendship. We don't dote on the subject as much, but then these songs are doing what songs are supposed to do: Bring out the ideas we knew all along but didn't stop to consider.
These songs are mostly tender ballads to the glory of simple friendship, be that between sibling or neighbor. They remind us to keep in touch, beyond a simple facebook poke. In today's electronic world, where you can have 1000 friends on a social network and yet have never met most of them, we could use a reminder that friendship goes a little deeper than liking a photo. Friendship is the support we had all along but didn't notice it until we looked back.
