Buddy Holly Lyrics
Why do they gotta front?
What did we ever do to these guys that made them so violent?
Oooo oooo!
But ya know I’m yours,
Oooo oooo!
And I know your mine.
Oooo oooo!

Buddy Holly dosnet have any much of a deep meaning, it is quite straight foraward. Lead singer, Rivers Cuomo, looks like Buddy Holly. He stated it in the chorus, “I look just like Buddy Holly” referring to him. If you don’t know who Buddy Holly is you can look up a picture of him, you will be able to tell a resemblance between Rivers and Buddy.

You guys are right about the meaning. The name of the song simply refers to the fact that Rivers, the lead singer, has an eerily similar resemblance to Buddy Holly himself. Notice the short hair and thick, black rimmed glasses.
-
Actually this song is about a platonic relationship that rivers had with an asian girl in high school. He refers to the fact that she's asian in the lines "your tongue is twisted, your eyes are slit"
-
This song is about Rivers' willingness to defend his girlfriend. It's about the way he felt the need to stand up for her and the way he didn't care what anyone else thought about their relationship together.
Apparently, this girl was a bit young for Rivers.
