Taylor Swift: Fifteen Meaning
Song Released: 2009
Fifteen Lyrics
and you walk through the doors
it's the morning of your very first day
You say Hi to your friends
you aint seen in a while
try and stay out of everybody's way
It's your freshman year
and you're gonna be here...

#1 top rated interpretation:Shes looking back on her teenage years and thinking how foolish she was to fall for someone just because they told her that they loved her. She says that when you fifteen, you'll belive whatever someone tells you. "'cause when you're fifteen, and somebody tells you they love you, your gunna believe them."
She also saying that when she was fifteen she thought that she knew everything and "that there's nothing to figure out."
In this song she's basically going through her high school experience and heartbreak. She also shows her naivety, "and your thinking he's the one, and your dancing round your room when the night ends."
She says "in your life, you'll do things greater than dating the boy on the football team, I didn't know it at fifteen." I think that this means that in high school she thought 'dating the boy on the football team' was a real accopmplishment. I think that she is encouraging girls to have bigger aspirations than that.
She is also giving advice to the girls who listen to this song to watch out for the fake people who are trying to take advantage of you; "and when you're fifteen don't forget to look before you fall"
Overall, in this song I think she's trying to give advice to the young girls who listen to this song, she doesn't want them to make the same mistakes as her. -

#2 top rated interpretation:this is about her high school experience.... it is also about her true life friend, Abigail. she really does have a red head friend named Abigail.
Basically, it is about her high school experiences with what she thought was love. she talks about how at 15, you dont know what your future will be and that what might be a big deal then, won't be later on. -

#3 top rated interpretation:This song is about Taylor's freshman year experiences when she was fifteen. It's also a lot about her friend Abigail, who gave her virginity away to "a boy who changed his mind". It talks about the lessons Taylor and Abigail learned that year about themselves and high school life. It's telling all of us young teenagers that we don't know who or what we're going to be when we get older. To me, it showed me how I need to be careful with my feelings about boys, and to make sure I know the difference between love and lust.

When i'm fifteen i have a trust issue and i just can't believe what people say.I doubt everything they tell me.

I first heard this song as an eight-tear-old girl. I am fifteen now and I still have trouble understanding what it means. I guess that when you first start high school you feel like you are part of something exciting, but you want reach for something bigger (like dating a football player).
Whether or not it is on purpose or by accident, people will make promises of life and not be able to keep them. -
Ah! One of my favorite songs! I remember when I was fifteen. I remember making this song. I switched from Country to Pop because I thought it would be nice to try something new. But I love it, but one of these days, I'll go back to the sweet country life.

It's all about her friend Abigail and her experiencing high school problems. Like things like dating the guy on the football team or being popular isn't important, but to a fifteen year old, it's the most important thing in life. It's saying that her friend Abigail made all these mistakes and that you shouldn't do the same, and just make high school the best you can do, even if no body's perfect.

Fifteen is adout when your first year in high school when your first real boyfriend[not just the ones in elementary that you truly only see in school and anything outside it is not face-to-face] tells you they love you and you believe them because you have not delt with any thing serious yet and then after a month they dump you and go to another girl-the jerks-and T.S. doesnt want you to get hurt like her and her friends so she told you in her song to not rush into anything to fast and take it slow cause trust me you dont actually know a guy untill you go on a date with him, i wish i would have thought about what the song meant because i went through the same thing and trust me you will never get over it untill you talk to someone who has been through it before because you can relate if you need to talk about it e-mail me at-- sierra12princess@gmail.com-- you will be sooooo glad to get it off your chest girls or guys who went through it with a girl
to summarize its about love, trust, and heartbreaks. the ones that you thought were going to last forever and were like driving 70 miles/hr. down a dead end street and stopped and crashed so fast it was a blur. -
I think Fifteen is about how being a 15 year old girl in high school has its ups and its downs, like falling in love with a boy who changes his mind at the age of 15. "But don't worry there will be tons of boyfriends that you will date and then you'll break up." That's just being a teenager as my mom would say :)
-
this song is ACTUALLY about her best friend abigail when she got her heart broken.. abigail is actually the girl in the video!
-
'Back then I swore
I was gonna marry him someday
but I realised some bigger dreams of mine
and Abigail gave everything she had
to a boy
who changed his mind'
I'm probably wrong but I'd like to think it's about how that a guy breaks up with a girl to follow his ambitious he's a heartbreaking dick. But when a girl does it she should be praised for 'following her heart' -
I feel this song is about her teen years (fifteen) and how if she could have gone back she would have changed some things but mainly I think it's about the first love, making a friend for life, seeming like the world is on your shoulders but when you look back at your life it all seems like a waste of time worrying about all the stupid things. It really inspired me because I am currently fifteen and going through some of the same stuff =)
-
It's about her friend named Abigail and a boy was saying that he loves her so she gave up her innocence to him an later she figured out that, that was all he wanted and he broke up with her.

This interpretation has been marked as poor. view anyway
-
It's about how when you are a teenager, you think that you know everything, and that you truely know what love is, and that you've found it. When your fifteen, you don't really know everything, and believe what people say, even when they don't mean it. It's about finding out what life is truely about, finding friends, and finding love, which all happens in high school.
-
It's about when Taylor was in high school. She's talking about how foolish she was. How she should have thought about it before she did what she did. She's also saying, way deep down, that she could have delayed that long chain of heart breaks.
