Daughtry: Waiting For Superman Meaning
Song Released: 2013
Waiting For Superman Lyrics
She’s been locked up inside her apartment a hundred days
She says, “Yeah, he’s still coming, just a little bit late
He got stuck at the laundromat washing his cape”
She’s just watching the...
-
I think the song superman. It shes waiting for god. God to help her in her life and all the challenges she is and will be facing.
-
I agree that "Superman" is a soldier and the singer is his wife/lover and she is finding excuses for why he isn't home yet. Only one thing: I don't think Superman is coming home.
-
I never watched the music video, but when I first heard the song I thought it was about a girl who thinks somebody is coming back and keeps on making excuses on why he isn't here. She still tries to be hopeful, but she's getting a bit insane and desperate because he is never coming back to the relationship maybe back to life or something like that
-
I believe it's about a girl, her man walked out of her life she cannot accept that he walked out on her. She becomes depressed and suicidal. She isolates herself and becomes very delusional.
-
I think it means that this person is stuck. She's depressed and upset. She's waiting for someone to save her. Her superman. Thats why this guy saves a girl from being run over by a bike, saving a girls purse, saving a guy from killing himself. she's locked away and is just waiting for her hero.
-
Superman is her husband this at war and "stuck at the laundry mat" means her stuck at base."stuck at the the 5 and dine saving the day" means he's on a mission and couldn't talk to her."wating for superman to pick her up"means she's wating for him to come home.
-
It's about a girls dead brother. Her brother was, and will always be, her superman.
-
The song is about a woman who lost the person she love but he is not death she just lost contact with him and cannot find him heck he still coming just a little be late and the part of talking to angels is cause she have fate she will find him agsin heck the making a wish is to find him again and shevslwsus dmiles cause she rather portray herself as happy than sad.
-
Its about a girl who lost her hero, like a father, and needs someone to show her to be strong again, and to save her from the pain. "Locked in her apartment for 100 days," is a coping mechanism and "Talking with angels" is her trying to communicate with him.
-
It's a religious interpretation we are all waiting for the second return to save us the album is called baptized and Daughtry is a Christian.
-
I personally believed it was about a women who had just lost her superman and is in denial about losing the perfect person she just had saying "he's at the laundromat", and In turn turning suicidel due to her loss - this is expressed with the "talking to angels line"
-
I've always thought That this song was about a young girl with cancer is trying to make everyone feel special while she's still alive by dancing with them, talking to angels, making wishes with passing cars, and waiting for Superman to pick her up, and Superman would be Jesus and she's just waiting for it all to end, and make it worth everything.
-
I think it is about a suicidal woman.
Of course she is also waiting for the right guy to come and save her from herself but she isn't helping herself, as she was "locked in her apartment for 100 days"
She is creating silly excuses to why her 'superman' hasn't found her yet, like being "stuck in the laundromat washing his cape"
Finally she is giving up, as she is "talking to angels"
I think "dancing with strangers" and "she smiles, oh the way she smiles" is part of her facade, and "she's falling apart" is also part of her facade, but behind it. -
Why does it not say waiting for superman to save her heart? rhymes a million times better "with shes falling apart" and still retains the superman saving theme. i love the song but that line crashes on my ears every freakin time
-
The song is about someone who is waiting for her "superman" to finally rescue her. She wants to find that man to love her like no other. She's waited for a long time for him and in a way when she makes excuses as to why he hasn't shown up yet, it's because she doesn't want to lose faith or hope. Someday he will come.
