Daughtry: Home Meaning
Song Released: 2007
Home Lyrics
Trying to hide the pain.
I'm going to the place where love
And feeling good don't ever cost a thing.
And the pain you feel's a different kind of pain.
Well I'm going home,
Back to the place where I...

#1 top rated interpretation:i belive when it says "Im going home to the place where i belong where love has always been enough for me cause these places and these faces are getting old"...i feel like it is refering to heaven,he he wishes to be in a place with true love and happiness (home)because he feels this world has nothing in it for him he just wants to go home (heaven) After watching the video i feel like this dose contribute to the drafted people in the army etc. but if you really think about it i feel it has another meaning as well and of course people will always see it in other ways because music means different things to different people. but i thought it was about heaven before i even saw the video, it is mind blowing how other people can see a simple song as a life story. (sorry for the spelling errors)

It makes me think of a loved one dying and once they die they go to heaven just like god was waiting for them to come “home” (to heaven)

You all know or have heard about prodigal son who demanded his fortune and went to town. "Be careful what you wish for, you might get all". Life later became hard where he went and decided to come back home where different kind of pain and love is always been

It's a cool song...This song remind me of girl I used to love though I couldn't win her heart ..
I just love listening this very song now and then. -
White is right.

I think this song is referring to a place other than Earth, like Heaven. It is talking about a place where love is fulfilling and true.
He refers to Earth in a lot of phrases too. For example, "The miles are getting longer it seems, the closer I get to you."
Also, I think it also has a lot of good concepts about this life too. "Be careful what you wish for, because you might just get it all....."
This song is not about one place, yet I think refers to many. I think it is amazing how this song can mean so many things to different people. -
To me this song is not specifically about one event. it can be interpreted in many ways which i believe was their intent. For everyone who listens to it to be able to see themselves and their life in the song. For me, it reminds me of my mom. She is always there for me no matter what. Even when we fight, she loves me in the end. No matter the amount of trouble i get myself into, she will always have my back. Friends will come and go. And when they go and im in pain, her arms are always open to comfort me. With her, Home is the one place where i feel eternal love, a place where i belong.

I think it's about him and his wife they keep splitting up and she gives him another try."you always seem to give me another try". But that's just me

The song is basically about his conflicting feelings after being booted from American Idol then on tour. It was, at that point, the end of his dream in the first few lines. yet he felt a strange sense of relief because he was going to a place he loved. Then, later on tour, he realizes that while he loves living his dream, he loves being home even more.
