David Bowie: Cat People Meaning
Cat People Lyrics

To add to my above comment,...this song and video means mankind continues to live in fear...fight wars...and engage in acts of violence. Man is putting out fire with gasoline...which obviously does not work. The video shows that the muslim woman and the woman from the western world can communicate without violence.

It seems like it has something to do with women being surpressed throughout the ages...even going back to primitive tribal communities..goverment..organized religion...etc. The only way we can find true peace with in ourselves is to look inside and know who we our, rather then serving the false ego that we think we should be. In the video..you see a woman lead another woman back into a primitive cave. "I can stare for 1000 years...and ive been putting out fire with gasoline". Meaning all the work we have done to gain independence but havent really evolved. We are still sexually guilt ridden as a species. You cant put fire out with gasoline, but when we look inside ourselves and get in touch with our primitive animal intinct we free our minds from our own ego..the false self we have been programmed to be.
