Death Cab For Cutie: Passenger Seat Meaning
Passenger Seat Lyrics
And then begin to breathe in
The darkest country road
And the strong scent of evergreen
From the passenger seat as you are driving me home.
Then looking upwards
I strain my eyes and try
To tell the difference...

Well the person who sent me this song says that the actual interpretation of shooting stars and satellites is shooting stars are people in ur life that come in a magnificent way but then disappear. Satellites are those that stay faithfully orbiting around u. Im a girl and a guy sent me this. I'd like to think he sent me this as a sort of message that he has feelings for me. Some people think this song is depressing but i think its romantic.

I see it as the sudden realization when you know you are in love with someone. When you are in their presence and don't need to talk or entertain each other. You're mind drifts off and you think of something like shooting stars and satellites and you're not embarrassed to communicate what's on your mind. The only thing that matters is that you are together. Nothing else matters, not even the world. And whatever that person needs help you will guide them and support them always.

I think is his/her father that is driving home his child. The kid feels safe and comfortable. Everyone has looked up to the sky and asked our fathers "what it is" or "whats going to happen".
-
When I hear this song I picture it
as the ride to heaven from the life in earth.
Perfect serenity and peace. This is what
I would want it to be like. I am the passenger
and the person driving is the angel. I want it
played at me funeral ceremony. I believe it
is a song that can mean something different
for everyone though.
