Demi Lovato: Neon Lights Meaning
Song Released: 2014
Neon Lights Lyrics
We'll be shooting stars just passing by.
You'll be coming home with me tonight,
We'll be burning up like neon lights.
Please steal my heart,
Cause it's freaking out.
It's freaking out,
Right now.
Shining...

#1 top rated interpretation:“Baby, when they look up at the sky / We’ll be shooting stars just passing by / You’ll be coming home with me tonight / We’ll be burning up like neon lights.”
Lovato’s verse captures the notion of igniting a spark with someone. Is it a look across the dance floor at a crowded club that ends in an early morning hours hook up? Sounds like it. Also, a shooting star can be gone as quickly as it comes, so why not just act on it? It’s better to burn out than fade away. Perhaps this is her acceptance of a one night stand or a fleeting hook up in the here and now. Not every makeout sesh needs to lead to a relationship.
“Be still my heart ’cause it’s freaking out / It’s freaking out, right now / Shining like stars ’cause we’re beautiful, we’re beautiful, right now.”
She’s into him in the present. This doesn’t have to be the love of a lifetime. Her heart is all in an uproar over the newness and the excitement of a fresh hookup. There’s nothing wrong with that; it’s one of the beauties of being young.
“You’re all I see in all these places / You’re all I see in all these faces / So let’s pretend we’re running out of time, of time.”
In the moment, he's all she sees in all these places and faces because she can't stop thinking about him. So, pretending like the clock is ticking forces her to act, or to ask him to act. It’s like, “Hey, what are we waiting for? Let’s just do this!” It’s better to regret something you have done than something you haven’t done. No need for “Missed Connections” if people just act on their impulses. -
Hooligans.

Not every relationship will last and become something bigger. Enjoy it while it lasts, instead of complaining about how it might not. If that makes sense.
-
about having fun not caring and love so strong that they will be burning up
