Eagles: Tequila Sunrise Meaning
Song Released: 1973
Tequila Sunrise Lyrics
Starin' slowly 'cross the sky,
said goodbye
He was just a hired hand
Working on the dreams he planned to try
The days go by
Every night when the sun goes down
Just another lonely boy in town
And she's out...
-
A drinking song actually, it's a drink, the tequila sunrise.

I hope this interpretation is 99%. This is a story of a boy who wants to realy settle down (as narated by the writer)by getting married and the boy has a girl in his imagination or his aquaintence but he had never a courage to to propose even after emptying several shots of tequila drink. The expected outcome never comes but repeats endlessly, a pertetual day dreaming. This is my old experiance.

Well, I guess in life we've all been through it at some stage. It's when you really want a woman and you sum up all your courage to ask her out and....she just ends up telling you 'let's just be friends'. It's the cruelest thing a woman can tell a man. It robs you of your soul.
