   this song is about a person who is going to leave soon the person who loves. the two peopledon't know how long time they aren't going to see each other. she has go go but she doesn't know for how long. the only thing she is sure about is that it will be for a long time. she'll be leaving in and her last desire is to hear the beating heart of her love for one more night the evening before the departure. she wants to make the best of what is left and keeping with herself. the night before leaving him she wants to feel alive, to hear also her beating heart one last time. the daylight represents their story ending because she's going to leave everything before the daylight. she doesn't know where she's going and she's scared because everything is changed and she only wants to be by his side. she hopes to met him again one day.

   She makes several references to Ed Sheeran's lyrics including "beating heart" from "place your hand on my beating heart" in Thinking Out Loud, "autumn leaves" from his song Autumn Leaves, and "evergreen" from "honey your soul could never grow old it's evergreen" also in Thinking Out Loud by Ed Sheeran. It is said that the two had feelings for each other; his song "Don't" is about Ellie.
