Even in Death Lyrics

Give me a reason to believe that you're gone
I see your shadow so I know they're all wrong
Moonlight on the soft brown earth
It leads me to where you lay
They took you away from me but now I'm taking you home

[CHORUS:]
I will stay forever...

I think this song is about Amy's younger sisters death.

"Moonlight on the soft brown earth/It leads me to where you lay/They took you away from me/But now I'm taking you home"

Means that she found herself standing upon her sisters grave. And she wants to take her home. But yet she can't love her anymore because its driving others to think she's crazy.

"Some say I'm crazy for my love/oh my love"

But she will always love her. Even through death.

I think of the remake of Wuthering Heights the 2007 version. I look at it as Amy singing from Heathcliff's point of view. In the movie his love, Cathy, married another man. She dies and in the movie he goes to her grave eighteen years later and digs it up. The movie is very good and this song would be perfect for it. My opinion.

My theory is that her boyfriend/husband died and no matter how much people tried to brake the news to her, she wouldn't accept the fact that he is gone. She started seeing him sometimes I got that from when she says "I see your shadow so I know they're all wrong". She is clearly in the denial state of greef and doesn't want to accept that he's gone.

My first love died in a car accident I was 16 him two weeks away from 16 .for me it is about losing him I am 47 and still mourn him and think of him every day. When he died I felt I lost half of me.He is always with me and yet I am still alone.True love last forever.

It sounds like the woman in the song was in love a person that was executed that's what I get from they took you away from me but now I'm taking you home. or they could have died in battle

Obviously it is about her younger sister who died.i think it is a truly beautiful song and especially at the end where she says "people die, but real love is forever"

I think this is supposed to be a story about a girl who thought the guy she loved was dead, she never loved anyone else & never really accepted that the guy was dead, and then he wasn't really dead and returned to her. A lot of love stories are like that, The Princess Bride for example.

I think the meaning is not that she is going to lay with another dead person but that she is taking a love to the grave with her, that she is dying and taking her love for another on the earth to the other side, like she has given up and cannot love this person anymore then she does here and is taking her home with her in death.

They've said before they wrote the song either as a joke or like someone else said, based off a movie... can't remember, but it wasn't supposed to be taken seriously. Maybe poking fun at themselves? Not sure.

I think the song Even In Death is about someone whose lover or family member is killed and she wants to bring them back ''They took you away from me but Now I'm taking you home'' and right before the person died, they said ''Even in death our love goes on!''

I think that this song is about a person who has just lost the one she loves, and has gone crazy. She refuses to except his death because she loves him so much.

The only 3 songs dealing with Amy's sister are "Breath No More", "Like You", and "Hello" (look it up). This song is about a couple. The male dies and the lyrics are from the female's point of view. She is saying that their love lives on despite his death. I guess it can go both ways (male or female) but since Amy's sining I'm gonna say female. But yeah, that's what I got out of it.

I think that it is about how her love died, and I don't think it is about her sister b/c on the website they said there was only two songs about her sister: "Hello" and "Like You". Amy Lee is saying that the ghost or spirit is haunting her, and she can't tell if it is real or just in her mind.

I honestly think it's about Amy's sorrow for her dead sister.

"Moonlight on the soft brown earth it leads me to where you lay" It leads Amy to her sister's grave.

"Even in Death our love goes on"

Even though Bonnie is dead Amy still loves her so much
