Evanescence: Good Enough Meaning
Song Released: 2007
Good Enough Lyrics
I can't say no to you.
Crave my heart and it's bleeding in your hand.
I can't say no to you.
Shouldn't have let you torture me so sweetly.
Now I can't let go of this dream.
I can't breathe but I feel...
Good...

I have been listening to this song for a month straight...I met a guy. My husband hasn't been very good to me. But, I have stuck with him through it all and I don't plan on leaving anytime soon. But, it reminds me of a guy I met. I know I can't be with him, but he makes me feel a completely different way than anyone I have ever met. I know we want to say what were feeling but we cant...not allowed. So he needs to remember that even though he makes me feel, "good enough" he needs take care of what he asks of me, because I feel like I can't say no to him.

This interpretation has been marked as poor. view anyway

Well, this will be my second time sending my interpretation of a song, so here goes...ok, I think this song is about (whether it be about Amy herself or someone else) who are in love with someone and cares about them so much that they can't say no to them, the person means so much to them that they would do anything for that person no matter what. Even through the most difficult times and as bad as it may be, they will still stick by that person. Just to prove they are "good enough" for that person and wondering if that person will ever notice...please let me know if any of you agree or disagree.

You also have to take into consideration that she is a christian singer. yes, this song is about her relationship. but you could also interpret it to be her saying that she is good enough for God to love her. The bridge part I'm not so sure about. but I think part of this song is about God.

Yeh, I love evanescence and I agree with you all.
especially Chris.
I find that I'm in almost the same situation and this song seems to ring true for me. When you find someone you love so much that you feel yourself changing with everything else (whether they love you back or not), it's scary and you do question yourself for whatever reason. But the last line is the best in my opinion, because it sums up the song no matter which spin you take from it. It could be talking about unrequited love, so much so that you feel you need to show it however possible. It could be a relationship that could collapse at any moment. But whatever the meaning, it's brilliantly delivered. :D
Although, that being said lots of songs make me feel emotional because I just love music. lol... -
I think this song is about being with someone who doesn't appreciate how amazing you are that you are completely devoted to and then finding someone else who realizes all of your talents and everything and feeling so good about tht that it is almost unreal (im still waiting for the rain to fall, pour real life down on me)
-
its about being happy but still being cautious that something could come along and ruin it but you will enjoy it while it lasts, this part shows it best
"im still waiting for the rain to fall and pour real life down on me, 'cause I can't hold on to anything this good enough, am I good enough for you to love me to?" -
I agree with EvanescenceFreak! this song is really a sum up of all her feelings and how she now feels 'Good Enough' because everything has come clear and turned up right

This is a song about how amy lee was going through a lot of rough times (with terry's stroke, and will leaving the band) during the recording of the seventh album "the open door", but she learned to step away from all those problems, and she knows she got through them, and she felt very good about it, so she for the first time in a long time, wrote a song about how good she felt.
