Patrick wrote this for soul punk (when the band was on hiatus- the went on hiatus mainly because pete and Patrick were fighting)….so uh. I think it’s about Pete. Probably platonically but yknow…

I see it as him giving up on a person. Remembering everything that happened between them. Wanting to be with a person but he doesn't know how to feel.like knowing his life is better without them there but still wanting them.

I agree that it is about a relationship in the distant past that he doesnt care about anymore, but he was so hurt by it that he has given up on love completely and wishes he could at least feel something even if it is painful; maybe he is just trying to come to terms with what happened and finally move on.

The girl who broke up with him a long time ago the pain he felt and the relief after the wounds have healed. The straight sarcasm of " miss missing you " directly means he doesn't care anymore. They had a future she dumped him and his life is better off without her

This interpretation has been marked as poor. view anyway
