Foster the People: Miss You Meaning
Miss You Lyrics
Lay it down, they start up
The innocence of what you are is what I want
I've ran my colors dripped down and drained out
Tried a million things, but my heart's been shot
I hope you try to find me, I'm all spun and...

I always thought it was about a suicidal lover. "Look at me now before I walk away, you might just miss me one day." Meaning that the partner needs to pay attention to him before he 'goes away'.

i agree with annon. i first i took it as only a man telling his past lover that she will miss the love they once shared because they have gotten into an argument, but after some time i noticed the comparison to a person who is abusing drugs and has let it consume who he is, she will "miss" the person he was before he turned towards the demonic choice of drug. it seems like he wants help to overcome his habit "I hope you try to find me, I'm all spun and pacing", but really only he can save himself.

This song is about a guy who fears trying drugs, but then overcomes the fear and tries them. When it gets out of hand and "he wants to live a life that will make u smile when he is done here and long gone" meaning his sudden change in attiude toward drugs has upset someone he cares about...he wants to change so they still love and forgive him because he got in a fight with that person and doesn't want to back down from his new addiction so he says " look at me now before i walk away , u just miss me one day" ..this means that he is blaming the other person for not "loving" his new sence of attitudw
