Welcome to the jungle
We got fun 'n' games

In the jungle
Welcome to the...

You're all wrong!!!! The song is about the Vietnam war, and about how the soldiers raised hell, and pillaged, " you can have anything you want but you better not take it from me" listen to the lyrics you'll see!!!

Cab driver says, "Do you know where you are? Your in the jungle. You're gunna die", axl uses it as a theme. The night life, with protitutes, drug dealers, etc. and how easy an innocent girl (hence: "your a very sexy girl, that's very hard to please...) can get sucked in to the night life and get involved in the LA night life (the jungle).

I find it hilarious that the person who calls us all numb-skulls for having our own different meaning for the song doesn't even know how axl spells his name. anyway. I belive the drug thing more or less is right.

The song is about LA, inspired by a homeless person telling axle "you're in the jungle, you gonna die," and it was written in Seattle.

Actually numb-skulls, this song is about New York City, the greatest and most recognized city in the world.

Axel and the band were hitch-hiking to NYC and when they got there this homeless nut turned to Axel and said "Welcome to the jungle baby, you're gonna die."

P.S. Axel now says that New York is his new stomping grounds, and that he's tired of L.A.

this song chronicles axl rose's arrival to "hair-metal" L.A
    duh! axl even said so!
Back then (and possibly now) sex, drugs, and prostitution were common in L.A.
And that it's about how he lived in L.A, how he partied, how wild he and GnR were.
and that you basically had to be an "animal" in order to fit in the hair metal scene in L.A

This is what someone told axl when he first moved to LA they said welcome to the jungle baby your gonna die.... because its such a hard town to work in and get anywhere in

This is about axl leaving layafette in louisiana and moving to the city, it was written by the band when their car broke down on the way back from their unsuccessful "hell tour" in seattle.

Well I was always told that the song "Welcome to the Jungle" was written about being in Prison. It makes a lot of sence. I mean if you really listen to the lyrics...

Welcome to the jungle, we got fun n' games
We got everything you want, honey, we know the names
We are the people that can find whatever you may need
If you got the money, honey, we got your disease
    In the jungle
    Welcome to the jungle
Watch it bring you to your sha na na na na na na na knees, knees then
Welcome to the jungle, it gets worse here every day
Ya learn to live like an animal, in the jungle where we play
If you got a hunger for what you see, you'll take it eventually
You can have anything you want, but you better not take it from me I wanna watch you bleed

It was supposed to be written in Westville Prison in Indiana. As soon as you walk into the prison it says "Welcome to the jungle"

Email me at Skitsobitch1105@yahoo.com and tell me what you think or if you have been to Westville and have seen the sign.

No one effin gets it this song is about everything that happens when your alone in a big city on your own!!! it's about how you get sucked into the nightlife of a big city. Axl's first day in the city the cab driver he was with said" you know where you are? you in the jungle baby your gunna die" he then used that as a theam for the song. The beginning of the video explains a lot the song is also bout how a big city changes you. Like at the beginning of the video he is a country boy but at the end he is TOTALLY different.

Perhaps it encompases them all, sex, drugs, and rock and roll- maybe he is speaking of the whole rock star life in general.

It's pretty obvious what this song is about. It's about the dangers of Los Angeles, the drug dealers and the hookers. sIt's about drugs and sex and that you can get either "if you got the money, honey".

Axl stated this song was written when a tramp shouted at them one night 'You know where you are? You're in the jungle. You're gona die'. It scared Axl and stuck in his mind so he wrote this song about the city.
