H.I.M: The Sacrement Meaning
The Sacrement Lyrics
I feel your touch so close and real
And I know
My church is not of silver and gold,
It's glory lies beyond judgement of souls
The commandments are of consolation oh
You know our sacred dream won't...

#1 top rated interpretation:I think it's about making love to a woman. Saying that he may not have the best house or the most money, but he has her, which means he has a goddess to worship and to perform the sacrement, which is being with her and making love to her.
-
He worships love like a god and she is the sacrement to show it because although they're apart he still worships his love for her
-
This interpretation has been marked as poor. view anyway
-
see i always took "MY church is not of silver and gold" as Ville saying he doesnt have much, hes not as rich or handsome as all the other guys she could have, but what he does have for her is Love and it outweighs all the others.

My interpretation of the song is that, after all the satanic rumors about them. Ville is trying to say that you don't have to go to church to worship God, you can worship wherever,(And I know, my church is not of silver and gold, its glory lies beyond judgement of souls, the commandments are of consolation and warmth.) And alot of people say you have to go to church to worship. No you don't, you can worship whatever you believe in, in your own home.

obviously this song is about love. but a sacrament is normally taken to be a visible sign of invisible grace. like a cross or a dove. so he is saying that the girl who is "the sacrament" reminds him of something greater, love. he talks about "my church is not of silver and gold" this means that he is worshipping the love. that true, pure love, is like the hindu "perfect balance" and he is trying to reach it with this girl that he is in love with.
- sacrament is you
- sacrament of love
- sacrament of warmth
all signs of his love that represent it but are not really love. -
I think that it's mostly about a girl which Ville was left by because she thought he was not enough for her or mostly he didn't have enough money or something or he sometimes may treat people the wrong way..
So she is away from him, and he hears her breath and weep and also feels her touch so close and real because he's obviously still in love with her...he knows that his church is not of silver and gold- meaning money or maybe his character...
So basically, in my opinion, this is a way to say you're sorry and that you still love that person even she/he is away know but you're begging him/her to return...THat's what I think! -
I don't think the song is about making love, but just about love. And it's a bit anti-religious too.
