Imagine Dragons: Walking The Wire Meaning
Song Released: 2017
Walking The Wire Lyrics
Do you know the line that I'd walk for you?
We could turn around, or we could give it up
But we'll take what comes, take what comes
Oh, the storm is raging against us now
If you're afraid of...
-
I think it's a love song. The wire is the high of love the bliss of being together. The storms are arguments, the falling would be falling out of love. It's saying "Don't be scared of what could happen, we love each other enough to make it through anything."
-
I think this song is about a romantic relationship. I think it is about two people who want to be together even though the rest of the world doesn’t seem to. “Well the storm is raging against us now” and “take it in when thunder roars” give me this idea. The woman seems to not want to admit she has fallen but he is trying t to assure her by saying “if you’re afraid of falling then don’t look down”. This could mean literally falling, but I think it means she is afraid of falling in out of love. He is trying to assure her that everything will be okay and they are “walking the wire” together.
-
I feel it's about doing the best that you can for children. If, the child decides it's too much, "then we'll take what comes." Reaching the highest heights, for children, can be intimidating & lonely. However, it could be an exciting adventure, just the same.
-
This song is about taking a risk for something that will benefit your relationship with someone.
