I believe this song is about her boyfriend who is also the father of her child. I believe he left her after finding out she was pregnant even though he promised her forever. I believe she is denying this and still believes he will come back because he promised forever. She waits and waits for him but eventually has to leave.

I think it is about a guy that she loved having left her after having promissed to be with her forever; and she deciding to love God forever instead because he's the friend that will never go.

I think that her husband or boyfriend has left to possibly go to work at a dangerous job and has not come back and she is lying in her bed waiting for him to come back and the lyrics " Forever starts today Forever we will be Forever's every day Forever faithfully" is saying when she dies they will be together forever.
