#1 top rated interpretation:Feb 2010 ESPN magazine interview with Brain May: Queen decided that it needed a simple, anthemic tune that could connect with the audience. The morning after the show, May woke up with a stomp-stomp-clap beat rolling around in his head. To accompany that big rhythm, he sat down and wrote depressing lyrics that described the futility of man. The lyrics begin with a young man dreaming of a better life, in the second stanza the boy is now a young man battling to reach lofty goals and the song ends with an old mans dreams unfulfilled. The chorus is not a rally call. It is a Czech lullaby which a parent promises a child " we will, we will rock you." Great article by Seth Wickersom tracking down the meaning of the most popular stadium anthem. The song was recorded in an empty church because Queen loved the acoustics.

#2 top rated interpretation:The first bit just refers to a regular kid, who dreams of being someone big, that's it. I think the second bit says that the Boy, now a young man, is in a riot, the "Wavin' your banner all over the place" is literal, as the participants are waving the Flag of their social/political movement.
The third bit says that the Young Man, now an old man, has failed, his movement failed, and he sees that everywhere, with things just like they were and no change, and he wishes his eyes would just quit or maybe that he would die, so he can just have some peace. -

#3 top rated interpretation:I don't know gents. I listened to this song many times today. Yes, I know that it practice it's associated with rocking and sports games and what not, but it you take the lyrics literally it may be deeper than that. A boy playing kick the can (common childhood game) thinks he's going to be a big man some day. As a young man he thinks he's going to take on the world, waving his banner(whatever he believes in) all over the place. As an old man, defeated, poor(never defeated th world, it defeated him) just looking to make peace. The "we" in we will rock you being society, the man, etc. Have your hopes and dreams, but "we" will rock you.

A heavy song based on one of the older classics. She wanted to make a song about something much more heavier and use woman because woman rule the world.

It’s about Freddie’s bisexuality
Waving your banner all over the place: the banner is the pride flag
Buddy your a boy make a big nice pane in the street going to be a big man someday: that he is a man and he must do manly things like fighting in the street because gay or bisexual people were thought to be less manly -
it is literal gay pride, Freddy was gay himself. the lyrics "waving your banner all over the place" is referencing a rainbow banner and "you got blood on your face" is stonewall.
Search stonewall riot for more info.
Happy pride month! :) -
It’s gay pride darling

I think he's a poor boy at first and dreams to be a big man in society. It is not stated here in his middle ages but I think he got his dream but at the time of his old age, his motivation became poor because his already want peace and fear to continue his dream that's why he chooses to be poor, and he already want peace of mind, but somebody will put him back to the fire his motivation.

It means that in all the times in your life, in all the situations in your life, at any age of your life, Queen will rock you with this song. It will bring you back to that memory of stomp stomp clap whether you were at a great game, concert or party and you just felt good again.

In my mind, "We Will Rock You" is basically about rocks.

Wow! Just wow.
It's about the permanent nature of the music. And intentional general appeal of the song. The boy the young man and the old man may or may not be the same person. If one assumes that they are then interpret the sone to mean that the band's music will always be there for you. If one assumes that they are different people, then here you have a song intended to appeal to and inspire everyone.
You'll find this song a raging success in any event. (Particularly sporting events. Pun Intended) -
About ''the young Individual boy'' who fought for His Independence while growing up. Now being a old man where He's a little lost, but not forgotten that has been ever struggling for keeping His identity since He was a kid fighting on the streets against the bullish bullshit ideology of The Radical Left[modern day democrat and neo-con Zionist fascists] that wanted and still wants to keep Him[the individual] in His place. Out of fear not to rise up against Them to become some kind of a Righteous proud Patriot. That has been negatively pressed out and told too, to go Altright by ''We will, We will rock you'' song. Who has resisted Them there to make a stand in rebellion against their Leftist unholy agenda that wanted and still wants to rock or stone the individuality of the Individual, especially if He doesn't want to convert his God given rights to become a traitor for Them that He always had to fight not to become one of Them.

For me this song represents a young man who believes he can fulfill his dreams using violence. It shows that maybe he might get what he wants at first, but in the end, he will be stopped (rocked) and the only thing left will be remorse.

This interpretation has been marked as poor. view anyway

It is about Freddie being gay "mud on your face" "big disgrace" "waving your banner all over the place" it is a discussion between Freddie and (maybe his father) and basically Freddie is saying "I don't care what you think of me, here I am, WE WILL ROCK YOU!"
