Jackson Browne: Rosie Meaning
Rosie Lyrics
When the trucks rolled up
She was sniffing all around
Like a half-grown female pup
She wasn't hard to talk to
Looked like she had nowhere to go
So I gave her a pass
So she could get in to see the show
I...
-
Ok, for the most part obvious, but it’s about Jackson, not a roadie. Roadies don’t do the audio mixing for a show, duh.
-
“Looks like it’s me and you tonight,Rosie!”
-
Just look at the chorus:
Rosie you're all right (He's right handed)
You wear my ring ('cause it's on his hand)
When you hold me tight, Rosie, that's my thing
('cause that's his.. ya know.. THING)
When you turn out the light I got to hand it to me (HAND it to me.. he he, get it?)
Looks like it's me and you again tonight, Rosie (Rosie palms. ie: Masturbating)
It's not even subtle. -
It's good to know that I'm not the only one who saw it this way...
The song is about a roadie for a band who meets a beautiful groupie and is smitten, only for the groupie to leave with the drummer.
As a result, he goes home and masturbates. -
I definitely interpret this song as being about masturbation. Its clear what occurs in the lyrics.
-
I was looking to see if it was a little known fact, or was it just my own interpretation. I'm surprised to find that this is the first entry.
While it is sung as a love song and miss you song, it is about masterbating. So there, it's out here for all to see.
