Jewel - Foolish Games Meaning

Song Released: 1997
Foolish Games Lyrics
You're always crazy like that.
And I watched from my window,
Always felt I was outside looking in on you.
You're always the mysterious one with
Dark eyes and careless hair,
You were fashionably...

This song is an expression of profound sorrow, and at least part of it was inspired by the harassment musicians and other people endure by the Nazis and other terrorists, often referencing personal and private aspects of their lives, and presented in a public manner, such as an NFL telecast. The letters FG in the name of the song indicate this woman experienced harassment during football games. The death of John Lennon is another example of how football telecasts are a stomping ground. Lennon's death was announced during a Monday Night Football game as the kicker John Smith #1 ran onto the field to kick a field goal, a middle finger and "secret message" about John from those who were actually responsible for the death, reasons classified.

Clearly the song is about someone -a male- in a woman's life who is everything to her; it could be a lover or in my case, my father, and then her seeing that he is not what she thought he was. IN my case I idolized my father only to find out he was a coward and a hypocrite. It is agonizing to find out that someone you love particularly a male hero is a coward or fraud or hypocrite. And that person betraying you is what breaks your heart. So the song is pretty literal but it is open to interpretation whom it is about.
