This song is about a guy and a girl that meet up at the carnival or fair and have a little fling. She tells him she'll be back next summer, but she never comes back. The guy even gets a job there, waiting for her, but for the past 5 years, she never returns. He keeps playing back in his head the last time he saw her, and would probably do anything to have her back, or at least see her again.
I don't think Ive ever heard of a song that rings so true with me. And since the song just came out now, this time last year, was the last time I was seeing a girl briefly. She pretty much told me she'll see me again, but, like this song, she disappeared. I really liked her too. :(
