   I think, in this song, he implies that he has to struggle a lot and sometimes he undergoes despair. The world tries to discourage him and pull him down but his 'battle symphony' helps him to retrieve his faith in himself and reminds him to face his enemy fearlessly.

   He was a victim of sexual abuse as a kid, and dove into drugs and alcohol to cover his pain. Bad things happen in the dark, when he had to face his enemies...or abusers. His mind turned to music when he couldn't face his enemies. Blood on the floor could echo his abuse as a child. Ironically, His father was an unstable police detective who handled cases dealing with abused kids. His mentor was more of a father figure than his dad was.
   
   He was always trying to build a wall around himself, and when it cracked he'd have to build it up again. He was fighting himself and his problems, getting back up to fight again. But he trusted one voice, who gave him the strength to keep fighting. Perhaps his mentor's voice?

   I feel he's having a conversation with God and he knows he going through it and yet he's telling God if I fall I will put my armor back on please see this so when I fall you will catch me
