Linkin Park: Easier to Run Meaning
Easier to Run Lyrics
Replacing this pain with something numb
It's so much easier to go
Than face all this pain here all alone
Something has been taken from deep inside of me
A secret I've kept locked away no one can ever see
Wounds so deep...

They wrote this song is about a man who had a hard life, he grew up with foster parents and and found out when he was 8. He found out he has a brother and two twin sisters, and that his mum gave him away to her favourite school teacher. His mum had to become a prostitute just to make money, which he is the result of.
I know this because i have met the man who this song was written about, he is now americas top motivational speaker for teens :) -
Don't you hate it when people try to relate the lyrics to the artist. l believe it's the wrong way to go XD
it's basically about a person who regrets the past. probably had bad childhood or something. lt could be anything LP songs aply to a lot of situations.
There's one particular part that I like:
"Sometimes I think of letting go and never looking back
And never moving forward so there'd never be a past"
I'. pretty sure it speaks about suicide not actually running away, because of the 2nd part. -
i think this song was written as a add of nike shoe. here chester tells thet he can run easily wearing nike shoes. but he didnt mention wheather he was wearing shocks or not. it is very confusing. my name is shoemaker.

This interpretation has been marked as poor. view anyway

People always do mistakes in the past. but sometimes big big mistakes in the past can't be forgoten.Because those mistakes becomes a painful memorie. Having such kinda feeling you can do 2 th ings. runaway just to forget those memories and if you don't try to forget and Alwas feel pain then you will become so numb. There is no good solution given by linkin park. It is known that none of this can help you. The song itself is confused and tryin to find out a solution. and expresing his feeling. (it is my own way of thinking.my email add is horsetig@yahoo.com )

I think it's about a person who tries to solve his problems by hiding them and wants to fix what has happened but can't because he doesn't have the strength to go through what happened again
-
this song, along with many other linkin park songs, are about basically anything that you can immagine it to be about...if its rape, then its rape. its about any problem that anyones ever had and how the easiest way is just to run away from it all. i really like this song because it makes me think about what im doing, my situation. hes trying to say that whwat is easy might not always be whats right.
-
I think this songs about someone whos had some bad shit happen in there life,
and just wants to get away from it all,
like many of Linkin Park's songs, they apply more to emotions then to reference
(by this I mean its how you feel not whats happened)
Linkin Park's lyrics are beautiful in this song and make a lot of sense to a person like me, who's fucked up a lot, and had a lot of fucked up shit happen, its just about wanting to escape the past. -
Chester was sexually abused as a child. This song strikes me as Chester singing as himself and Mike rapping "in character", playing the part of the abuser as if he regretted everything. It could also be interpreted as Chester wondering if he did anything wrong to bring it upon himself.
I lived with a person who had been sexually abused. It affected every part of her life and relationships with others. She often felt that she was a bad person herself.
"Something has been taken
From deep inside of me"
That's innocence. Something dear to him has been destroyed and he can never get it back.
"Wounds so deep they never show
They never go away
Like moving pictures in my head
For years and years they've played."
My partner was haunted by what was done to her but in order to keep living her life kept burying her pain and not letting it show. That is also a form of running.
"Sometimes I remember
The darkness of my past
Bringing back these memories
I wish I didn't have"
Self-explanatory.
"Sometimes I think of letting go
And never looking back
And never moving forward so
There'd never be a past"
Believe me, when something like this happens to you, it doesn't just affect how you view your past. It makes you not want to commit to anything permanently in your present and future. That's part of the reason why my partner and I are no longer together. She tried to commit to me for seven years, but it involved moving too far forward too fast and it meant the possibility of being hurt again.
"Just washing it aside
All of this helplessness inside
Pretending I don't feel misplaced
It's so much simpler than change"
If Chester is anything like my former partner, he's saying here that simply pretending nothing bothers him and presenting a bold front to the world, because the alternative is to face what happened. -
In the chorus it talk about something that happens and he prefers to run away to replace than whit something unreal or just go and not face that alone
Then it says that someone found out that past and maybe told it to everybody something he had keep locked up inside and tried not to remember. It's like having a little movie in his head remembering everyday that thing so bad that happened before.
Then the raper says that
If he knew how to do or be all this things he would but he doesn't find the way to do that.
Chester then says that he remember something really bad in his past and brought back memories of his past that he wishes not to have or disappear in the dust. Then he says that if he let go of the past so that he would not remember or is it better to die so that it would not more past and no suffering or making other suffer.
Or just trying to put it aside or forget that he needs help as well just thinking he doesn't feel misplaced (in his childhood he was adopted) And doing all this is simpler that a simple change. And letting go of the past just by running away from it it is easier. -
As I believe this song is depicting the feelings of a girl trapped somewhere (mayb e a prostitute) She is not getting the way out. The situation is like hell, she knows whatever she is doing is against her soul but she don't have any other option except this. The wounds she is getting are something which is incurable as she is feeling. She is in confused state of mind. The lines are
crawling in my skin/these wounds they will not heal/fear is how I fall/confusing what is real -
The words are coming from a person who lost hiss/her loved ones. It's all about the feeling deep inside from the heart when someone is going through the phase of loneliness. We can see from the lines
I never knew what it worth like to be alone on valentines day/you feel nothing is remaining on behalf of your happiness/you're all special moments happiness gone with that special person -
This song can be about a lot of things but I think a big part is that they've done something wrong in life and they want to take it back but they don't think they are strong enough so they just run.

Hey guys.....
This song lyrics clearly tells that, its very easy to refrain from a problem (any kind of) in place of face the problem.....if you wannna try to face the same it will be so difficult. Everyone wants to change their past in some respect if and if there are any reson which is causing deep wound now......so they wanna go back to the same .......and try to remove the reason if they are able to.....
