Linkin Park: Easier to Run Meaning
Easier to Run Lyrics
Replacing this pain with something numb
It's so much easier to go
Than face all this pain here all alone
Something has been taken from deep inside of me
A secret I've kept locked away no one can ever see
Wounds so deep...

I think this song is about overcoming struggles. Sure, it's "easier to run", but that doesn't solve problems, it just makes them go away for a while. Chester writes songs that he relates to, but makes them flexible so other people can relate to them.

This song is about him on drugs, he says "replacing this place with something numb", he talks about regrets, he emplies that he's sad, depressed really, and that he's on some type of drug to escape what he's done.

Well my interpretation of this song is simply that it tells the story of those who hurt others and the ones that they hurt. When they sing the "If" section before the chorus, its clearly someone feeling deep regret over what they have done. And then the rest of the song's lyrics concentrate more on the person who is feeling this pain is afraid to confront their problem. The specific things that come to mind when hearing this song though are rape and parental abuse. Drugs, leaving a loved one, and all that may have something to do with it, but I feel this is much more of a physical pain that someone inflicts on another.

Linkin Park's lyrics are always very blunt. What the lyrics are is what they mean. In this case they're singing about having so many problems and finding it easier to run than to face them. But also haveing regret about these problems.
Rape as stated in some of your imterpretations, can indeed fit into these lyrics, but so can a number of other things. Just think about it like that.
