I'll Be Gone Lyrics

Like shining oil, this night is dripping down
Stars are slipping down, glistening
And I'm trying not to think what I'm leaving now
No deceiving now, it's time you let me know.
Let me know

When the lights go out and we open our eyes,...

Linkin Park plans to release this song as a single and its video will probably be based on a space theme. Yes, this song has many meanings-
1)Based on a Soldier's Life: the Lyrics describe the bruised and battered life of a soldier struggling to survive in a war. It describes his willingness to leave the place of death and return to the loved ones he cares for.
2)Based on a Relationship: the lyrics take the form of a fighting couple, as the man among them describes his deception by his partner and wishes to let her go.
3)Based on an Explorer: An Explorer (like a space astronaut) who takes a big leap of faith to prove something for science, but leaves behind all those he cares for in return.
4)Based on Freedom: A motivation (example: for the oppressed to break free of the injustices done on them), inspiring them to use their rights and run away to start a new life away from those who didn't care for him.

To me this song sounds like suicide, to be honest most Linkin Park songs sound like suicide to me. "And I'm trying not to think what I'm leaving now" this is them trying not think about all the people they are about to leave when they commit suicide." Let the sun fade out and another one rise, climbing through tomorrow, I'll be be gone" this is the person saying when tomorrow comes they will be dead because of suicide.

They can't take it anymore, all the thoughts. " And tell them I was alone" to give their family clarity. To me this is a very sad song with a deep meaning.

"trying not to think what I'm leaving now..."
The singer has realized what he has thought he was doing right is turning out to be wrong.
"we open our eyes, out there in the silence I'll be gone..." the singer is saying when everyone realizes my wrong, he already realized his mistakes.
"your forgetting now, it's time you let me go..." the singer is saying you need to realize that what I'm doing is wrong, so don't believe in me anymore.
"and tell them that I am the only one, and there's nothing there to stop me..." the singer is saying that he is the only one to fix his wrong doings, and that there will be nothing to stop me from fixing it.
