Linkin Park: My December Meaning
My December Lyrics
This is my time of the year
This is my December
This is all so clear
This is my December
This is my snow covered home
This is my December
This is me alone
And I
Just wish that
I didn't feel
Like there...
-
Actually, this song is about death.
It's about his friend commiting suicide.
And, he wishes that he could take back
all of things he said so that that person
didn't feel like he/she had to kill themselves.
And, he wishes that he could just come home
to them being there, being alive. -
He broke up with whoever in december..This song is about chester or mike having a close friend, most likely his girlfriend, or wife..and it's a breakup..he's not welcome home, and he's not welcome around her, and the time of the year they broke up was december. He said he would give it all up to have someone to come home to, trying to show his love and unselfishness and how much he cares about that special person.
-
You guys got it all wrong, it's about chester being on tour in December every year and not being able to come home for Christmas. He would give it all away just to go home.
-
It's not simply so specific as someone losing their love in the winter. He is singing about how this is his December, His home, his this and his that. Thus giving us the impression that he has everything he needs.
But given that he is singing about the winter time rather than any other month, he's playing on the whole desolate winter thing. Winter is a lonely cold season so it's safe to say that the character is a lonely cold person.
And he would give away all his possessions, his snow covered home, his December, Not to be so lonely.
I'd like to thank the academy
-The Chemist- -
this song is about being away from someone and wanting to be with them instead of where you are. like touring chester would rather be with the one he loves(girlfriend, wife, etc)then on a bus, and he would give all the fame away to be with that one person at that moment
-
This song is either about the break-up of a relationship or someone close to death, probably the first one.
The lyrics set a really accurate setting for me: someone living on their own in the middle of nowhere in December, feeling all alone because their love has left them. It's a beautiful song with great singing from Chester and a quiet and subdued Mike as backing vocals.
