Linkin Park: Place For My Head Meaning
Place For My Head Lyrics
On a dark night shining with the light from the sun
The sun doesn't give light to the moon
Assuming the moon's going to owe it one
It makes me think of how you act to me
You do favors and then...

#1 top rated interpretation:I noticed there was no listing, so I will submit one as in depth as possible. I also included the lyrics. Let's begin.
I watch how the moon sits in the sky on a dark night
Shining with the light from the sun
The sun doesn't give light to the moon
Assuming the moon's going to owe it one
It makes me think of how you act to me
You do favors and then rapidly
You just turn around and start asking me
About things you want back from me
[This starts with an analogy stating how the sun gives light to the moon without expecting anything in return. It says this is the exact opposite as what happens with the person. Everything that the other person does for him, he expects something in return.]
(Pre Chorus)
I'm sick of the tension, sick of the hunger
Sick of you acting like I owe you this
Find another place to feed your greed
While I find a place to rest
[This says how the main person just feels like he is under so much pressure, as the other person keeps pressuring him for more and more. He makes him feel like he owes him something, playing his emotions in order to get more and more. The main person just needs to get away from it all.]
(Chorus)
I want to be in another place
I hate when you say you don't understand
(You'll see it's not meant to be)
I want to be in the energy, not with the enemy
A place for my head
[The main person wants to get away, and every time he confronts the greedy person, he denies everything and says he doesn't see anything wrong.]
Maybe someday I'll be just like you, and
Step on people like you do and
Run away the people I thought I knew
I remember back then who you were
You used to be calm, used to be strong
Used to be generous, but you should've known
That you'd wear out your welcome
Now you see how quiet it is, all alone
[He's talking about how being treated this way so much might leave him with no choice other than to become what he hates the most. He remembers what the person used to be like, he used to be a good person. But his mistreating people made people isolate him.]
Pre chorus (2x)
Chorus
You try to take the best of me
Go away (8x)
[Pretty much self-explanitory.]
Chorus
Pre chorus (2x)
I hope you enjoyed it. -
If i'm i relate the person who hes talking to with kind of disgust is inside himself to. Hes letting him self the hole time down, breaks hes own promises to himself to do the best for him. And how he is seeing himself inside the social system build around him.

Maybe LP tries to show Gods feels about us. We do not want to just love Him. Always ask for something. And when doing smth good immediately ask for reward...
-
The song is about narcissism.

the part where:"you do favors then rapidly just turn around and start askin me about things you want back from me" is talking about asomone doing things for other people then afterwards wanting somthing in return for it which leads them to getting greedy

I love this song!!!!!!! It's amazing and it makes me happy..
-
I think that it was about somebody won't leave him alone, and that he needs a place for his head to think and stuff.
-
My suggestion is.
That it's about a person who won't leave the main singer Chester alone. And keeps on annoying him therefor he "needs a place to rest".
(My FAVORITE version of Place for my head is the demo "Esaul". Esaul got its name, because Mike's friend is Esaul. The first song I EVER heard was "In the end" on a KidzBop CD I listened to back when I was I think 9yrsold. The 2000 released version of In the End, NOT the demo.)

i feel that place for my head is about frustration at someone who continuously does not accept the help you are trying to give and becomes greedy. They expect everyone to help them because they have problems. They let these problems push between them and their old friends. I know a person who this song fits perfectly...
