The chorus is from the perspective of the sun. "You thought i was down, you thought i was gone" refers to the sun having set. "Look up in the sky, see that i'm everywhere, shining down on you" is exactly what the sun does/is.
That chorus is insanely awesome! -
Could mean someone who everyone thought was gone forever, but was here all along, I'm not exactly sure. Just look at the chorus.
