Heart-Shaped Glasses (When the Heart Guides the Hand) Lyrics
When I was cuttin'
She was dressed in white
And I couldn't take my eyes off her
But that's not what I took off that night
She'll never cover up what we did with her dress, no
She said kiss me
It'll...

This song is about Evan Rachel Wood and Marilyn Manson's relationship with her. In addition to this Manson stated that he was reading the book Lolita at the time he was dating her. She once showed up to his house wearing heart shaped glasses and he said to her "dont break my heart, and I wont break your heart-shaped glasses"
I'll break down some of the lyrics further
"She reminds me of the one in school
When I was cuttin'
She was dressed in white"
This part is about how he percieves Evan as. He sees her as pure like a child and virginal. The line 'when I was cutting' is referring to skipping class, and is Manson's way of saying that he was never pure and innocent, not even while he was a child.
"And I couldn't take my eyes off her
But that's not what I took off that night"
Clearly this line is about him shedding her of that pure way of living. It is likely that she wasnt a virgin when the two dated, but Marilyn Manson felt that she hadn't experienced quite intensity that he had. Basically in comparison to his 'corrupted' mindset, she was practically the face of purity.
"And I don't mind you keepin' me
On pins and needles
If I could stick to you
And you stick me too"
This is him saying that he doesnt mind deflowering her innocence, in fact he enjoys it. This could also be referring to daddykink, that her innocence reminded him of a child, and that he feels this overbearing sense of power over her. The lyrics "little girl, little girl you should close your eyes" further prove this.
"She reminds me of a one I knew
That cut up the negatives of my life"
This could be him saying that she is his other, opposite half. When talking about film its the negatives and positives that make up a picture, and yet opposite they complete eachother.
"I couldn't take my hands off her
She wouldn't let me be anywhere but inside"
This shows her progression away from purity.
And thats pretty much it! I really enjoy this song, and was surprised thefe wasnt anything about it on here.
