Motion City Soundtrack: Better Open the Door Meaning
Better Open the Door Lyrics
You better open the door before I take a hammer to the walls around it.
I cannot let you inside my cell for fear I'll sink the ship and drag us both down.
Our hell ends every weekend
But it's all I have to believe in.

To be honest I just thought the song was about him trying to get into a bar and getting/being drunk. I don't think the song has any real special meaning.

These song seems like it's about a guy who's really tortured on the inside and doesn't want to get to close to anyone in fear of dragging him into his private hell. (You better open the door before I take a hammer to the walls around it.
I cannot let you inside my cell for fear I'll sink the ship and drag us both down). The only times he feels happy is on the weekends and he goes on to explain all the things he and his friends do.
