Home Sweet Home '91 Lyrics
-
The song, "Home, Sweet Home" by Motley Crue was written by bassist Nikki Sixx, guitarist Mick Mars, and drummer Tommy Lee to welcome their lead singer Vince Neil back from prison after 19 days. Vince Neil had gotten in a car crash that had killed Hanoi Rocks drummer Razzle after leaving a party on December 8th, 1984 to get more beer for a party that was going on at Vince's house. Vince was under the influence of alcohol and was talking to Razzle about something and collided with another car, killing Razzle and badly injuring the other 2 people in the other car. Vince was arrested for vehicular manslaughter and for being under the influence of alcohol. Vince was sentenced to 30-days in jail but only severed 19 days on the condition that he stay sober and had to do 5 years of probation. So the other 3 members of Motley Crue wrote the song "Home, Sweet Home" to welcome their good friend Vince Neil back to the band after almost a month.

I would like this song played at my funeral as the last song. To me it means I am going Home Sweet Home to Heaven. The Lord is setting me FREE to go Home Sweet Home!
