Mudvayne: Fall in to Sleep Meaning
Fall in to Sleep Lyrics
Dreams of hurricanes
Dreams of pouring rain
Dreams of tidal waves...to wash us all away
Dreams of guns blazed
Dreams of fire rage
Dreams of swollen graves
Dreams of hollow pain
All gone
No more fallen
No more...

I think he is talking about falling into the mundane of life. It's easier to conform to a life of average and not have the unique dream of something better. That life is all bad and it's easier to just get in the rut with everyone else
. -
I think it’s about the terrors that have happened to the world in the past and ones that are to come in the future
-
This song is about letting go and separating one's self from the evil nature of reality. The accepted death of the optimist.
Sleep is really a metaphor for taking responsibility for the essence of our subconscious. -
I think it’s about bad things happening over and over again in a cycle and we are unaware but the lead singer is aware (see music video)
-
I agree with the submission of may 13 I think it's a male/female wanting to fall in to sleep meaning they want to die but instead of saying die they say fall in to sleep. Becuz they can't handle the world around them it's to much to handle so they think death is the way
-
I think it's about a person's life as he/she sees it and doesn't want to deal with it. So when they say fall in to sleep i think it means they want to go to sleep an never want to wake up to his/her life. They have nobody or think they have nobody. Just what I think and get from the song.

Ok first huge mudvayne fan!!
ok i think this song it talking about how people r alway talking about the end of the wold hence "dreaming" bt it also says we cant keep movin forword backwords with eyes closed. meanin if we spend life only thinking of death then all life was was just dying so y dose it mater thats wat i think anyways... -
What about suicide or death? I'm not denying the obvious doomsday-ish lyrical theme, but "fall into sleep" just reeks of death to me
-
Well obviously... TOOL! yes it is a lot like Aenima saying how huge tragedies will strike and it will all be our fault we have no one to blame but us, we still have time to change it all but, we don't we see that the big collective will deal with it. and if everyone believes in the huge collective. The huge collective has that belief. waiting for someone to come save us
-
I agree with the second submission.
First, YAYYYYYYYYYYY TOOL, and the name of the song is AEnima
Second, this song is about the end of the world and the words "noone cares" refers to the fact that it's our falt the world will end and noone knows this or cares, and the singer(Chad Grey) is the only one who knows or cares and he "dreams" about when it will happen. -
Revelation, a new beginning, to wipe or wash or crush away all the scourges of this world. The narrator is dreaming of that moment, waiting eagerly for its arrival. This is extremely similar to a song by the band Tool.

This is a song about dreaming up bad things and thinking that someone will be there to help you, but when it does happen, no one is there. "dreams of earthquakes, dreams of hurricanes" is pretty much saying like what if your spouse left you or someone close died, you know, like a bad thing happening. Then "nobody cares" is pretty obvious. When that thing does happen, no one is there to help you.
