Demolition Lovers Lyrics

Hand in mine, into your icy blues
And then I'd say to you
We could take to the highway
With this trunk of ammunition too
I'd end my days with you
In a hail of bullets

I'm trying
I'm trying
To let you know just how much you mean to...

My chemical romance rocks! if you don't believe me, then look at all the other bands on the site... They don't have nearly as many interpretations as mcr... That's because mcr rocks and the other bands suck... except for the used, they are pretty good too but mcr is better...

This is to the guy with the 2nd comment... you do know that the album is called 'i brought you my bullets, you brought me your love' right... That's probably why they use the word 'bullets' throughout the song...

I think this song is about two lovers who can't stand others' disapproval anymore and will do anything to be happy together. even if it means running away together. I can relate because my girlfriend lives in east Texas and I live in Arizona and we vowed that we'll run away to somewhere like Vegas and get married. I can relate to this song because I would do anything for her. Anything.

I actually read up on it and it's about the terrorist attacks on 9/11, and making the song sound like he's in massive agony because it's so terrible what happened. You guys really need to read your shit before you just assume stuff like this!

At first glance people jump to the obvious interpretation of, "it's about Bonnie and Clyde". In one way this is true, but not. Gerard has said that the song is about his girlfriend, but "Bullets" was also the prelude, so to speak, to "Revenge". This song is sort of something of a taste of the story that is later elaborated on in "Revenge" and Gerard has never really given the 401 on this song. A lot of MCR's songs are open to personal interpretation and I think they did this for their fan's pure enjoyment. Trying to find the exact answer to this song is impossible because there is no 'exact answer', or 'exact interpretation'. I have tried to put the so called 'story line' of all the MCR albums together and there is no actual story! It's more like someone has taken a story and torn out hundreds of pages and left about thirty pages of the story in the book. You could only ever paint a vague understanding of the so called 'story' anyway. Gerard has said himself that, "it's sort of like a movie that never happened". All authentic interpretations are right because there isn't really one true interpretation. What is interesting are people's different interpretations. I believe this is what makes the stories and meanings of the songs so mysterious and interesting. So keep digging deeper and keep discovering different interpretations. I could think of about twenty already. Whatever you like then that's what it is :D That's what the music is about.

Its a Bonnie n Clyde story they are a couple who have committed crime together n for there sins they are gunned down in the desert. He speaks of the love they share even as they r dying "And in this pool of blood - I see your eyes - and as we're touching hands"

I like the whole idea of the suicide pact
remember that they get song ideas from newspapers, so that would work

I think you all are stupid for correcting each other though
if there was one 'known' meaning to the song, they're wouldn't be a discussion about it

    that's the beauty of songs
the can mean whatever you want them to

This song is about when Gerard wrote about his friend dying and stuff so he wrote a song for her that says that her really loves her.

Demolition Loves is about a man and a woman who love each other so much. They can't let go. Til in the end when they die together but they still have their love with them. And I think that the guy is saying that it's ok that he's dying with her cause they'll be together.

It's about loving someone so much you'd kill yourself for them.

This interpretation has been marked as poor. view anyway

Well, while reading the inside cover thing of this album, at the end of who Gerard wanted to thank he said "I'm sorry K for writing all these songs about killing you. Demolition Lovers hopefully makes up for it"
    Or something like that.
Wish I was K. I've always thought Gerard is an amazing person.

that song is so sweet. all that stuff about dying for her that is just...
anyways I don't think it's about suicide or anything just about him being willing to die for his girlfriend

I agree with most of you. But this is by far my favorite song on this particular CD. I think that MCR not only wants to tell you a story. But also want you to interpret what you think and be able to relate to the song some how.

this is part of the whole I rought you my bullets three cheers story. In I brought you my bullets you brought me your love, the guy is in love with this girl and she loves him back. but during the end of the album the girl no longer loves him. So, her drives her out and kills them both and then they get a shot at being alive again, IF, they can get a thousand corpses. It's also mentioned in the first album. "a thousand bodies piled up, I never thought could be enough." it has nothing to do with showing his love or whatever, because she didn't love him.
