Scarecrow Lyrics

Move your body when the sunlight dies
Everybody hide your body from the scarecrow
Everybody hide

Make a wish when your childhood dies
Hear the knock, knock, knock when she cries
We're all alone tonight
Hold your breath when a black bird...

It reminds me of a little girl/ woman that was raped, and the scarecrow is the man that did it.

I think it might be after the movie, about the scarecrow who goes around and eats people.

Move you body when the sunlight dies,
everybody hide your body from the scarecrow
    everybody hide

In the movie, the scarecrow only went out to hunt at night, and it only feasted on humans.

I agree with the first post, in fact I posted a while back on YouTube that I thought Scarecrow was a government codename for a nuclear weapon and someone replied, correcting me, that it was actually a police force. So it looks like I'm with the majority anyway.

Also, I think the "we're all in love tonight" part goes with the whole armageddon thing, since it's every living thing's instinct to reproduce when they're going to die...

I like all of the interpretations. In my head, I imagine children running away from a scarecrow as a game. I don't see how this fits to a lot of the lyrics, or to the music video, but that's just what I always see when I listen to the song. Yeah, it's really not that deep or smart...

In the directors cut of" sing" you will see a glass wall that has frosted on it - scarecrow surveillance unit. I could be wrong but I think where the lyrics read "everybody hide your body from the scarecrow" it means- killjoys keep out of sight of the surveillance cameras .

Essentially I agree with the 1st rated interpretation, as it all fits with the whole idea of it being set in a post-apocalyptic world, but I thought I should add that SCARECROW is, apparently, a surveillance system (see the video Live from LA: Killjoys Make Some Noise on their official youtube page), so maybe that would change things slightly; instead of them hiding from a bomb (though I should imagine there are nukes being dropped), they are trying not to be discovered. And also, Mikey's cats's name is Bunny, so they're probably telling him/her to go and hide, not to stay outside where it's dangerous, and where he/she could lead BL/ind to them.

i think its brother and sister protecting eachother from an abusive relitive as in the scarecrow bwing the abusive relitive
"move your body when the sunlight dies every body hide your body from the scarecrow" i think that during the evening the abuse comes out. "childhood dies" they dont have onw cus of the abuse there comeing across "hear the knock knock knock when she cries" when they make a noise the abuse starts you know how thease situations start
but thats what i think "il keep you safe inside" someones keeping the other one safe like looking out for them and the whole bild up to the choras " he burns my skin never minde about the shape im in il keep you safe tonight" the abuse and keeping the otherone safe see whare im comeing from ?

I think it is the person that is singing (the character) saying that he is going to protect the little girl that is with them. "nevermind about the shape i'm in. i'll keep you safe tonight" and mabey the black bird is refering to a plane or a helocopter that is owned by the bad guys (Bl/ind). It's a post-apocalyptic world so mabey the reason it's post-apocalyptic world is because they droped a nuclear bomb. "Move your body when the sunlight dies. Blow a kiss at the methane skies" they are talking about a "Nuclear Winter". That's what I got from it.

During the "Sing" video the Scarecrow were the soldiers of BL/ind with the vampire mask. They are pretty much are a surveillance and capture squad.

the fact that the song is entitled S/C/A/R/E/C/R/O/W leads me to believe that it stands for something other than a simple scarecrow. I thought it might be an acronym, but I certainly couldn't think of anything that would fit it.
Gerald Way said that the album was set in a post apocalyptic world, so maybe its about the sun exploding?

During the "Sing" video, the place where they were holding the little girl (with the Japanese woman) had lots of surveillance screens, so I'm guessing "hide your body from the scarecrow" means to hide from their surveillance system during the night lest they get caught? O:

It sounds just like what you would do in Batman Arkham Asylum when facing scarecrow on one of the boss levels!!

The Scarecrows are those minions of the bald guy in the video. Before you listening to any more of that album i suggest you look at the videos so you know what they mean :P
