NF: Lost In The Moment Meaning
Song Released: 2016
Lost In The Moment Lyrics
So I'll take it in,
I'll take it in.
This may be the last air that I breathe,
So I'll breathe it in,
I'll breathe it in.
I heard that pictures don't change, just the people inside of me do. Who ever...

#1 top rated interpretation:Okay so after reading the lyrics a hundreth time, it finally appealed to me. Yes it is a conversation with hia conscience(his inner self). According to the lyrics, his innerself contradicts and battles with him, telling him how tired he is of the life his outer self lives. This, in other words means NF still dwelling in the past, in his pain, bottling up everything and letting no one know no change but yet writing about change in his lyrics and songs. He urges his outer self to practice what he preaches and untill he can do that, the are lost and will forever be lost. Lost in the moment of unchanged change expressed only in his music but never in his life.

#2 top rated interpretation:I definitely think he’s talking about himself throughout the song because in the line, “Ever since you fell in love with the music
See, you find a way to express what you feel
But the moment that you get away from the mic
You don't know what you doing” he mentions how the ‘anonymous person’ goes to music to express themself and in many of his songs before he mentioned how he does this same exact thing. He also seems to refer as the person as we, he knows how the person thinks, feels, and acts. So either he’s ridiculously close with the person or said person is him, and I side with the latter. He’s basically scolding himself for not doing anything about the issues he addresses, he only “lives in the moment”. -

#3 top rated interpretation:I feel I is a song to himself. It touches on him being frustrated with himself when he backslides and strays.

I feel like the impression of what he's gone through in his childhood and up til now is getting way worse and the fact that he's been going through stuff with his parents as well and giving his hand out to a friend of his that just sounds so much worse than you could even think about it and I just feel sorry for him that he has to go through those kind of things ...
-
He's talking to himself well at least his different personalities, just like he done with him and fear before blaming himself for not being able to cope with the things his been through and even tho he expressed himself in different songs he feels like he can't deal with it all well enough. I think I can relate.
This prolly is way off topic but I hope no one feels alone rn cause nobody deserves it
I'm just a teen btw but I know more bout depression than most adults and Nf's music is the reason I'm alive

I think that he's talking about how he wants to really take in the moment. Really be there. His songs are always about his personal experiences, or things he has gone through.
-
I think that this song is based on someone’s own thoughts and being inside there own head so much that they don’t know what to do with themselves. People change so much you just don’t know what to expect from them, don’t trust anybody who acts like they are the only one going through the worst moments. Be yourself don’t except any of the negativity that someone throws at you and all the faith that you have don’t know what it means cause life is going backwards and the weight is being put on your shoulders!!!!!!!

I think this song is dedicated to himself.
He’s talking about the things he has been going through but he doesn’t deal with them perfectly. He’s explaining a situation where he realized that he was manipulating himself all the time.
He still holds on to his past and can’t move on.
He also warns himself and says that he has to somehow stand straight for the things he writes down in his lyrics and publishes.
He also has to face them and try to cope with them.
In my opinion it’s kind of an appeal to himself. -
I think he is talking to fear. Similar to Intro III. This is the first part of his journey to kill his fear and bury him in the back of his mind as he succeeds to do in Intro III.
-
I think this song is about how him and Christ may or may not be arguing. Christ can't seem to find him and find a way to help him. Christ has helped him through his problems before, but this time he can't seem to figure out how to help him.

The more and more i read his lyrics i feel like he has D.I.D. or better known as multiple personality disorder. I think that his emotions.. fear, anger, joy, regret, pride.. might be alter egos. This song, Intro 3, Mansion and Why make me believe that.
In "Why" when he says "this isn't Nates flow" i know it's his pride talking.. but what if Pride is actually a separate alter? In Intro 3.. "Fear" again could be a separate alter just because of the way he talks back forth between fear and Nate.
I feel like Nate himself wrote Therapy Session.. but his alter fear wrote Intro 3 and his alter Pride wrote Why..
His song notepad was very intense to me bc a lot of times a notepad is the only way someone can communicate with alters..
I don't know im probably way off on this subject lol but I've been watching documentaries on D.I.D and his lyrics just make me think. If so... then i think he is the most beautiful talented human on this earth. -
His friend has changed from the person he used to know. His friend thinks that he is better off not around and his trying to push away anyone who ever cared about him. NF knows that its not gonna last so he's saying that 'it maybe the last time'.

After listening to this song several times in a row, I thought he had a bestfriend or someone real close to him. They both were going through stuff, but he tries to help his friend out but he pushes him away and says that nothii gs wrong. He tries to help his friend until he can't do it no more. And the phrase that repeats I think means that life is to short to be pushing a close friend that is trying to help away continuosly, because you never know it just might eat you alive and kill you. He is clearly talking to someone or about someone.

This interpretation has been marked as poor. view anyway

I believe that it is getting lost inside your own thought and demons and begging to like the way that it feel to be that way. I think it's about getting so trapped within that feeling that you lose yourself and then you lose time and you let time slip away and you lose things and you can't escape from being lost I the moment either so you basically die without ever living.

He is probably afraid that whatever happened to his parents gets him the feeling of wanting to die instead of sacrificing through his life
