Nicki Minaj: Masquerade Meaning
Masquerade Lyrics
Feel the beat of the drum
Move like ya really wanna be number 1
You can beat out the comp
Run like ya really wanna be at the top
Adrenaline rush 'cus...
You have been identified as a hustla'
Topic of the discussion but...

The song is about being fake to people. I think she is saying even though it's okay to make mistakes, be aggressive, and be your true self in that aspect, disguise your dark side by masquerading it to others. Also when she mentions the merry-go-round I think she is singing about life. So she is basically saying despite of pushing yourself to the top, having that whole "screw the haters, be yourself" attitude, keep that however, right now masquerade, master the merry-go-round (life). Hide your true self to get what you want out of people, however only be yourself at the appropriate time.

The only thing I can say is part of this is on the Addias footwear commercial and maybe she's referring to the word master as the devil? and by saying master the merry go round she's saying to control your own fate? I'm not really sure on this one
"Master the merry go round
Right now...
It's something you create
It's never ever too late
It's never ever too late
Right now... Okay to make a mistake
Yeah baby this is your day
It's time to masquerade"
