Roman's Revenge Lyrics

so far ahead these bumps is laggin,

#1 top rated interpretation:This song is rapped by her twin brother Roman Zolanski (alter ego) who is sick of people hating on Nicki because she is so popular. It is about lil Kim and how jealous she is. Roman's mother, Martha, is featured at the end shouting for him to stop being so rude and violent. If you want to read more about Roman and Nicki's other alter egos, go to her wiki.

#2 top rated interpretation:This Song is about the ra revengeof"roman" one of her alter egos. He is tired of how certain other artistsare calling nicki out,so he decidesto step up and describe how he feels about the bull that is being started and how nicki is on top of her game and everyone else is hating the fact that she is doing well

In this song Nicki is very much the ("Dragon") defending her top spot ("or loot/treasure") from those coming for her... like lil kim ("adventurer/knight trying to get at her hoard")
Seems pretty straight forward... Yes Nicki fan and dnd nerd. -
Clearly, those who commented aren't Nicki Minaj fans.
The story is about her alter ego, saying the things that everybody wants to say, but can't. Usually because the truth hurts. It's also a shot at LIL KIM, because Nicki didn't name her as one of her idols, and LIL KIM mouthed her off.
This is ROMAN'S idea of revenge.
Slim Shady is also speaking his opinion in this track. Read the lyrics, jeez. -

Romano's mother thinks he's a cross-dressing gay guy & hopes to "fix" him through exorcism, but then he comes back saying (basically) that you can't "pray the gay away". I thought it was a great performance at the Grammys.

I beleive this song is, as many have mentioned, about Nicki's alter ego, and mostly, about controlling anger towards society's shallowness, which in effect, makes most aspects of it cruel and jeaslous, ridden with soggy personalities etc.
Although, I dont wish to put words in her mouth, so I'm not sure about weather or not this is true or not. She is a great musician, and I hope the best in the future of her career. :) -
its about lil kim... isnt it??? cos kims 'mad that nikki took the spot'..... cos kim is a 'has been'..?? (not in my personal opinion..her songs are classics) nikki releases pink friday..so kim releases black friday.. they taking digs at eachother the clasic rap way-using lyrics as weapons. if only the world could war through sound!!!
-
I think this song is of her fighting with her alter ego and she is transforming into him and doesn't want him to come out just yet and towards the end of the song she warns him .
-
it is nikki helping her cusen romen then he gets out of control. nicki tries 2 help roman but it too late. thus roman iz gettin revenge. but really roman iz one of nicki alto egos ndd then having eminem on the track wit his alto ego slim shady just makes the song. even better. i love this song so much. :-) =-)

Anger because the song doesn't match what she wants to spit.
Or.... (lol) named after a computer game in which Niko (aka "Nikki") helps his cousin ("Roman") complete a series of missions. A possible mission could be Roman's Revenge. Hey - it's as good as any explanation for the inexplicable.
Seriously though?
People often write lyrics based weakly on something, then change them to rhyme - even if it changes the meaning of the song. This is why some lyrics seem to make sense but are basically just words picked because their percussive inflection matches the melody or beat (or other aspect) of the rest of song. In other words, writing lyrics often involves playing around with an instrument until it sounds right. Then the lyrics are laid down (in a similar way to MC'ing) over the top. -
