Panic! At The Disco: Let's Kill Tonight Meaning
Song Released: 2011
Let's Kill Tonight Lyrics
Words, wars, and symphonies
Make room we're taking over here
So the gallanting
Cold and alone, it suits you well
You won't find me perching here again
May your feet serve you well
And the rest be sent to Hell
Where they...

#1 top rated interpretation:even if brendon urie said in an interview it was about feeling cocky and going out with your friends i honestly think is about ryan(former guitarist and lyricist).
''If I retreat
Words, wars, and symphonies''
-this may refer on their numerous musicaland creative differences(the reason of the split)and how ryan was the one who created the main words and symphonies for the albums and now brendon hast to do that.
''Make room we're taking over here''
-spencer and him will carry on with the band, lyrics and everything the four used to do together.
''So the gallanting
Cold and alone, it suits you well
You won't find me perching here again''
-he maybe points out that ryan is so cold and elegant (his lyrics also) and that he(brendon) wont go that same way and will be unique.
''May your feet serve you well
And the rest be sent to Hell
Where they always have belonged''
-his way of saying screw you george...also note how ryan wrote on pretty odd song pas de cheval : ''give your feet a chance theyll do all the thinking''
''Cold hearts, brew colder songs''
-brendon said before how ryan was so cold and now he says how being cold he writes cold songs.
''fate will play us out
With a song of pure romance
Stomp your feet and clap your hands''
-that new line up will still gain love by the fans.
''Let's kill tonight!
Kill tonight!
Show them all you're not the ordinary type''
-i think he's talking how they will get over the split and move on even stronger than before.
i also think that this song could be connected to the young veins' song (ryans band after panic!) ''tyv (die tonight)'' hence the tittle and the suggestive lyrics. -

#2 top rated interpretation:"The lyrics kind of talk about just the idea of, umm.. you know when you're feeling like, kind of cocky and you're out with your friends, and you're like yeahh! we're gunna kill it tonight. this is gunna be awesome! and that was really what it was about!"
that is EXACTLY what brendon said this song was about in an interview. you can watch the interview here..http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UgepyWgspHE -
I think the song is about getting over the past seeing as Ryan left them for thinking Brendon wasn’t good enough and couldn’t make it on his own
-
self talk for the band
before a live performance
embodied in a metaphorically dark song
full of expert nods and cross references
but there's the contrast of a
rhythmically driving light mood
between mercenary and
that green gentleman
because it's an inspiring song
so I could hit replay
but you can say they killed it -
I think it's talking about showing everyone you're different. I mean, come on. "Show them all you're not the ordinary type". What else is that supposed to mean?
-
I've always thought of the song being used as a war song, to motivate soldiers in a dark twisted way. But hey if Brendon says it's about fun it's about fun.
-
If I had to compare the similarities of this song and Anthony Burgess's book 'A Clock Work Orange', I'd hope the lot of you would see many similarities. The line "show them all we're not the ordinary type" is exactly what the main character Alex Delarge and his crew were doing essentially.
The first verse reminds me of after Alex is brainwashed, especially the last two lines, "cold and alone, it suits you well" Exactly what Alex is after the treatment, unable to rejoin his crew. "you wont find me perching here again" similar to the previous, he's no longer capable of violence or sexual acts, so he can no longer perch with his crew
