Harold of the Rocks Lyrics

It was a weekend's eve,
I had sex on my breath
I was lookin' for somethin' to see.
With a borrowed black
Leather and my best fishin' hat.
Well it was just Wendy O. and me.
We called old Swamp
Up on the telephone
And said we was comin'...

I always wondered if it was about Harald Oimen who I've met and failed to ask. He was super nice and I should have. I know they spell it differently in the song so that sticks out but does anyone know if this is a fact? Someone else commented that is IS HARALD O. I have been waiting for 30 years to get an answer to this question. How do you know it was him? My fb is Nodrog Siuol Yesop. Find me and tell me.

At the 2022 concert at the Palace Theater in Albany, NY, Les said it was a song about a friend of his who became a crack head.

    Hey Gals and Guys
I think all these interactions are great! I have more of a question and it's been bothering me for 2 decades. Lol. Who is Stanley in the song? And where did he come from. Read the lyrics a few times and try and solve the mystery of Stan?

As a more lighthearted point of view, I like to think that this is a song about les's old friend "Harold of the rocks" and how he went partying with him and the squad one night. Harold was quite the character, and anyone who would spend enough time with him would finally "succumb" to his ways. Then after a while, he met him at another party. That is the place where they talked for a little, shook hands, and walked away (that's the last he's seen of Harold). So basically, it's les's way of reminiscing on the time he spent with such a weird guy.

All Good, 2011, Les talked about how this song is about an old friend of his who also used to be Primus's manager, who got into crack-cocaine. The dealer's name was Harold.

Schooly D is a rapper. He performs the ATHF theme. Not a crack dealer. The Nightbreak is a club that Schooly D was performing at. Greeny is indeed likely a marijuana reference knowing the band's views on the stuff. Swamper was the band's manager and friend that got into crack and Harold of the Rocks was Swamper's crack buddy. Les explains it onstage at times.

Harold is not a fried, it is the crack itself ("succumbed to the ways of Harold"). Les took it once or twice ("warm spot in my heart"), and then decided it wasn't good, so it was "last he saw Harold". But his friends went on.

harold is a friend from back in the day that liked to smoke rocks. ended up getting all of his friends on it but les. that's when he mentions them giving a little bit of their souls away. greeny may also be reference to marajuana. for they're going to their friends house to party one night. thats the last i saw of harold. either he died or got wrapped up in the addiction. therefore he is dubbed harold of the rocks. was probably a good guy despite his habit which is why they wrote a song on him. oh, and schooly d is the dealer.

I really don't know, but my best guess is that Harold is a guy from Berkeley or Oakland that smokes crack?
