The Rapture Lyrics

I see you lingering around
Like a bad idea

Peddling salvation
Threatening damnation

About to drop you like Cain
Like Cain dropped Abel
About to drop you like Cain
Like Cain dropped Abel

You're no medium
Just the scum on the shallow...

To me Cain is a character in the bible that represented self-aggrandizement over loyalty to his god. But it's also a straight up metaphor for injury like a 'crutch' or 'cane'=cain
gen4v2 And she again bare his brother Abel. And Abel was a keeper of sheep, but Cain was a tiller of the ground.(so he used a stick of some kind anyway)
Not sure just how deep the interpretation goes when but it says in v,3 and 4 that it was "in the process of time it came to pass" that Cain gave his fruits of harvest up to the lord..it sounds like it could have been anywhere along the season for harvesting. Almost ass though the first ripe fruits could have been kept in greed of their delicacy.
    whereas, the
brother; Abel he later took revenge upon was 'ABLE'to offer a right offering having given his firslings of the flock and not the older lower quality meat and fat..
---To me this could all round to the concepts of either jealousy over someone elses apparent wealth or dignity/place of standing righteousness etc.. or to the concept of breaking off from dependency upon a very narrow, vapid sin and guilt oriented interpretation of life. Although God even later confronts him about this saying its not so bad and that hed be accepted if only he does better. Cain then certainly presented his regards for that matter and ended the whole ordeal by dropping the goody-goody twoshoesfucker and feeding the thirst for self. Anyways this is all sortof a foreword to a non-biblical(not in your regular bible) Book of Enoch as he was Cains son after Cain was banished. I try to sort of correlate these kind of songs based on ancient text with society today if its abandonment of religion im seeing that more and moreso or the trading of one for another or evolution or corruption of ones 'holy gift' message to humanity or of "end-times" death and disaster. Or perhaps the unity of religion with another cause?..
