Queen: A Kind of Magic Meaning
Song Released: 1986
A Kind of Magic Lyrics
It’s a kind of magic
A kind of magic
One dream one soul, one prize
One goal, one golden glance of what should be
It’s a kind of magic
One shaft of light that shows the way
No mortal man can win this day
It’s a kind of...
-
Probably has a lot to do with Freddie Mercury's religon - Zoroastrianism. The Greek equivalent of the Roman God Mercury would be Hermes (as in the Hermetica) and the Ancient Egyptian version would be Thoth.
-
It was written for a film. So I guess there’s no real meaning away from this. Does sort of work in the film though.
-
is this song is referring a lost and bitter love which is party like to persuade other to join.??
-
One dream one soul, one prize
One goal, one golden glance of what should be
This is talking about the soul transcending from the body, to see what heaven/afterlife will be like
One shaft of light that shows the way
No mortal man can win this day
This is talking about the light leading to the afterlife... reaching it means you are mortal and will cease to exist
The song is about death, but not in a depressing way... the soul's journey to the afterlife is a kind of magic.. -
A kind of magic. Once this song played over and over on my spotify all night. I realized it the next day when I woke up and noticed it had been repeating. I checked and noted that replay 1 had not been clicked. It sort of puzzled me through the rest of my day. Anyhow, I believe this song was written for the Highlander character primarily however, there is a raw spiritual oneness where it feels like Freddie Mercury and Queen as a whole entity assume the position of immortality. And...they have. Haven't they?
-
The song must be about waiting to give birth.
(but it is probably for Highlander) -
I think they are talking about life and the way it goes. Like you have one goal, one soul and one dream. But no mortal man can win this beautiful race of survival cause everybody must die. But as long as we live it, its a kind of magic.

I am not sure...But I do really like the bass in this song.
-
This interpretation has been marked as poor. view anyway
