Queen: I'm Going Slightly Mad Meaning
Song Released: 1991
I'm Going Slightly Mad Lyrics
And the meaning is oh so clear
One thousand and one yellow daffodils
Begin to dance in front of you - oh dear
Are they trying to tell you something?
You're missing that one final screw
You're simply not in...

Roger Taylor, who contributed to the lyrics, has said that this sing addressed the effects of dementia that results from late-stage AIDS infection.

Freddie was a very famous person. And it was made in his last few years. I feel it was his fame that could drive him a little mad and the fact that he had AIDS knowing how ill he was it probably wasn’t easy for him.
-
Obvious that Freddie had a wonderful sense of humor even in the face of death. I think this was written after he was hounded by press and people wondering why he wasn't performing anymore, hence his answer in song and with his wonderful camp humor.

The song is about Freddy Mercury's having to deal with the fact he is going to die of Aids. He was not mentaly the same in the last years, and I can understand that it would make anyone a little stressed out and terrified knowing you have limited days left.
