Black Star Lyrics

I get home from work and you're still standing in your dressing gown
Well what am I to do?
I know all the things around your head and what they do to you
What are we coming to?
What are we gonna do?

Blame it on the black star
Blame it on...

Woman is a depressed soul and her lover is also a depressed soul living with her. He loves her and misses her though their love is hurting them both.

This a beautiful song that haunts the spirit. A relationship with a person troubled by depression. Until the period when one of them leaves. Feelings that have been tried to be suppressed but too strong to contain.

It's well known Thom has gone through periods of significant depression. I think this song is is his attempt to view his own depression through the eyes of his longtime companion/spouse Rachel. The song could be his way of thanking her for being there for him and acknowledging that his depressive episodes were really hard on her, too.

I think its a about a mentally ill and depressed girlfriend who makes him desperate, but when he leaves her, instead of feeling relief he misses her.

I think this is a song about a breakup with a girlfriend, or boyfriend and how they treated each other badly, and now that they are broken up, he/she can't get her out of his/her head.
