Rainbow: Stargazer Meaning
Stargazer Lyrics
Oh Id sell my soul for water
Nine years worth
Of breakin my back
Theres no sun in the shadow of the wizard
See how he glides
Why hes lighter than air
Oh I see his face
Where is your star
Is it far, is it far, is it far
When...

I'm a Christian, I don't believe listening to this song will make you any less of a Christian. The song doesn't praise the wizard, in fact he fails. and the story is told from the point of view of one of his victims, deceived, taken from home and made to work on his tower. just because a song, or any text for that matter has a reference to some evil (devil, magicians ect) doesn't mean you can't enjoy it, I mean Black Sabbath's song "Black Sabbath" is about the devil, but that doesn't mean you can't listen to it as a Christian, the song is a warning against the occult, plus it sounds awesome!
I'm a big fan of Dio, this is rainbows best song -
This song is not very nice...
I would choose not to listen to it if you want to be a christian.
First of all if you look into it you will find out that wizards are satanic and that this song is refering to the so called first wizard which is nimrod.
He was building the tower of bable (babylon) and was a hunter of men and married his own mother as part of trying to make himself a god. He wanted to get to the stars or heavens by climbing up this tower so he can live in/conquer heaven.
Many died as his slaves building the tower and his empire (he was the first assyrian emporer) was crushed by the true god jehovah when he confused the languages which then become the meaning of the name babylon (to "babble"). To this day all witchcraft and freemasonry (same thing) is tied up with demonic worship from this mage/magician/sorcerer/warlock and his decendents.....Stay away from it! -
The song is controversial as far as interpretation. In one live version I have a rainbow singer is heard (paraphrased) saying "This song is about a wizard, who takes people and makes slaves of them." This is a very basic interpretation, however and I suspect that there is much more to this.
