Well firstly it IS 'gibberish' and secondly I frikin LOVE this song! umm I think it's about how girls are soo hard to understand and that when they talk to guys its pretty much like they're speaking some alien language

It's saying that if you don't have anything good to say, don't say anything, at least to me.
That's the cool thing about Relient K songs: they can mean a million things to you or mean nothing and just be a silly song...
And speaking in tongues is still around... God doesn't take away spiritual gifts... If it's in the Bible after Jesus died, then it's still here today... -
First of all the name of the song is GIBBERISH... omg... I think that is almost worse then when people spell Relient K with an a... I mean at least RK was going to use an a but they didn't want to get sued by the car people...
Anyway the song. Matty T and the band is just a bunch of jokesters... on their site under biography they are talking about mmhmm and Matty T says: “It’s my personality to be cheesy and tell dumb jokes." Although it would be lovely if this was a satire to tongues... It isn't. Besides the rest of the song makes perfect sense:
"Stop talking gibberish or just stop talking." How often do we go through life not knowing what someone's saying... maybe political satire of a certain president (I know the song was out WAY before "W" came into power but hey it would have worked.) -
I believe that this song is most likey talking about speaking in tounges. I have heard rumors that they wrote it just to see how many people would memorize the words, but I can't help but feel that "Jiberish" is their way of talking about tongues. I think that they believe that speaking in tongues has been misused and is no longer biblical in the sense that it is used today. Biblical tounges, the way I see it, is if someone where to speak to a crowd of people and the speaker only spoke english. Now the crowd speak many different languages, but do not speak english nor understand it, but everyone hears and understand the message that the speaker gives despite the difference in language. I think Relient K discusses the misuse of tongues and wants people to stop using tongues in a way that it was never meant for.
