I know not all there songs are strictly about God, but most are two sided- they could be about God or something else. But since this one is lacking the God side, I'll add it.
It's about trying to live up to all his father's expectations of him by going to college and such, when really, he finds out, the only expectations you have to live up to are Gods and find out what he wants for your life. -
Yeah, this is mainly talking about how his parents wanted him to go to college but all he ended up learning was how to live his own life. everything was a challenge, whether it was being completely broke and spending all his money on concert tickets, or having a girlfriend who he can't really trust who's at a different school. It's talking about how through all the challenges of college he's not learning anything academically but rather about living his own life.

I'm not really sure about this song, that's why I submitted it, but I'm Kinda thinking its not at all about going to college. Its about doing what he thinks is right. And since his parents wanted him to go, he did because he felt it was right. Doing what god wants. That kind of stuff.
