Relient K: When I Go Down Meaning
When I Go Down Lyrics
It hurts so much to think of this
So from my thoughts I will exclude
The very thing that
I hate more than everything is
The way I'm powerless
To dictate my own moods
I've thrown away
So many things that could've been much...
-
I think: When you're feeling down, because you've thrown away everything, you can always trust on God that He would help you. He is there to catch you when you're falling. The last verse says:
When I go down
I lift my eyes to you
I won't look very far
Cause you'll be there
With open arms
To lift me up again
To lift me up again
These lyrics always help me when i'm feeling down. When I listen to this I'm feeling God very close. Then I realize that He is the only one who's important. He is my father and saviour! -
I honestly think that this song could either be about a girl, or about a struggle with God. Despite the last verse, I find that the guy could have either been dumped, or recently rejected. And he's trying to tell the girl how he feels, but he's very uncomfortable about it.
On the godly side, however, it could be someone who messed up majorly in life, and wants forgiveness of that/those sin(s). It could also be saying that even though he is committing a sin, and he knows it, that he's getting deeper into the problem.
That's my interpretation on it, at least. -
I think this song is about God helping you and guiding you when you make mistakes. and how Hes always there for you when you fall:)
